Team
Tommaso developed a desire to tackle large-scale challenges while growing up in numerous countries across Asia, Oceania, and Europe. He was first exposed to the power of big data during his undergraduate degree in computer science and economics at Bocconi University, which he explored practically in internships at Amazon and KPMG. His curiosity led him to the Master of Business Analytics at MIT, where he is currently learning about the models behind AI magic. He's eager to apply these technical insights with an entrepreneurial vision to create simple and effective products for users. That's why he's partnered with his long-time friend Luis to build Rafter. They're leveraging advances in computer vision and natural language processing to create a personalised shopping experience that helps users find the right products, quicker. Outside of work, you'll catch them cruising down Italian ski slopes or arguing over the best Beatles album.
Luis' academic background in computer science and economics provided an understanding of the complex dynamics of technology in business and the technical ability to build products. At Goldman Sachs, he honed his skills in financial analytics, learning about global markets and investment strategies. He gained insight into the world of venture capital at Lakestar, learning the nuances of startup growth and funding. Fuelled by these experiences and a spirit of entrepreneurship, he co-founded Tree.ly. The venture was more than a business; it taught him invaluable lessons about innovation and resilience, which form the cornerstone of his latest venture, Rafter. Alongside his long-time friend Tommaso, he aims to redefine the online fashion shopping experience by leveraging advancements in AI and the trend of social commerce. Their mission is to streamline and personalize the shopping journey.
